FIFA supports 140 more players financially

FIFA financially supported 140 more players waiting for salary payments from their associations.

Three million US dollars are planned for the second distribution phase of the specially designed Fund, the Football World Association announced on Thursday. Overall, applications from 22 FIFA member associations went to 39 clubs.

The FIFA Fund was formed 2020 for financial support of players waiting for salary payments and can not drive them in their clubs.

There are a total of 16 million US dollars available in four application cycles. The 140 applications in the second phase were approved at the decision of the FIFPro Steering Committee and the FIFPRO

“The FIFA Fund for Footballer makes an important contribution to supporting players in need,” said Emilio Garcia Silvero, Legal and Compliance Director of FIFA.

FIFPRO legal director Roy Vermeer stressed: “The decision of FIFA to form this fund was groundbreaking for many players and should serve other national or continental football organizations as a role model.”
