National Team: Flick
The winning streak of Hansi Flick is torn, but this draw honored long as a courier in the wide path to the fifth star. The German national team has passed its first true hardness under Flick at 1: 1 (0: 1) in the classic against the Netherlands – but not with flying colors: In the end, the draw tilted heavily.
For the ninth victory in the ninth game under the new national coach, it was not enough because the DFB eleven lost the thread after a strong hour. Thomas Müller (45. + 1) had hoped Flick after 2-0 against Israel on the perfect start to the World Cup year: The Bayern Profi Müller moved the same with his 43th international game gate with the legend Uwe Seeler.
But Steven Bergwijn (68th) complained and destroyed flick a triumph about coaching fox Louis van Gaal, whom he had appreciated several times as a role model. In the final phase, the encounter threatened to tilt completely, after a few switches made noticeable that Flick had a total of ten partially very well-known players.
The Netherlands had lifted the Corona measures a few days ago, 50,000 fans brought themselves with electro-pop and strikers in party mood. The DFB team should take them how flick stressed, even “have fun and show everything we have”. And that was quite a lot.
Müller meets with the pause whistle
First of all the active play method requested by the national coach. The Elftal was raised deep in one’s own half and so “stressed” how flick cares to say. In construction, a triple chain became a triple chain from the German fours, because left-back David space usually pushed high. Defender Antonio Rüdiger, next to the Nico Schlotterbeck got another probation chance, took over the design in his 50th country play.
Before that, Jamal Musiala as a substitute for Joshua Kimmich was once again a real alternative on the six: the youngster claimed balls in confined space and demonstrated his strong technique. Although the first chance was Oranje, when Teun Koopmeiners was headed to Captain Manuel new fault (6.). But then Leroy Sané (12th) and Kai Hanctz (19th) had good opportunities.
By Timo Werner wanted to see Flick, “how he proves himself against strong defender”. The Chelsea striker hit the edge of space the lower edge of the latte (21.), but was in the away. A little later, he reclaimed penalters when he fell too light after a short contact from Dortmund’s Donyell (29th).
Painting awarded the potential 1: 0 (35.), but then Müller hit. Werner’s fine pass to the depth brought musical spicy inside, where the Tyrell Malacia Prillowed by Hanctz clarified towards the penalty point directly to Müller. His hard shot left the Freiburger Mark Flekken in the Oranje Tor no chance.
DFB team with Fortuna in the bundle
Almost immediately after the sideways, room had the huge possibility to 0: 2 after a sugar pass of the hitherto weak Sané, but the Hoffenheimer grimaced freestanding (47.). The hosts now increasingly opened their game what the DFB-eleven rooms gave. But these were used too rarely. Musial awarded by head (62.).
The powder, as the Netherlands as did not struck anything: Space lost a header duel with Denzel Dumfries and Joker Bergwijn Stach. Shortly thereafter, Germany was lucky when the impartial Craig Pawson tested a penalty whistle after a foul of Flicks favorite students Thilo Kehrer.
