US government will investigate the agreement between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard

Even though Microsoft announced the purchase of Activision Blizzard a few weeks ago, the agreement between both companies could be specified until 2023 due to all the legal procedures that this entails. It seems that there will be no problem with the transaction, however, the government of the United States ** will be carefully investigating the situation to ensure that this will not bring problems towards consumers or other large companies of the same turn.

Microsoft-Activision Blizzard Deal Will Be Investigated By the FTC - IGN Now
It happens that the Federal Commerce Commission (FTC) of USA . It will open a research folder on the purchase of Activision Blizzard . Apparently, this commission has shown concern about this type of transactions and the type of consequences that could generate at a large scale. Basically, FTC ** seeks to determine if this recent movement will have any negative impact on the industry or consumers.

Is there a reason for worrying that this transaction is canceled? Actually, no, previously the FTC has also conducted research for another type of similar transactions and have not interfered with it, so it could simply be a simple routine process. Of course, this commission has reinforced its position before this type of purchases and maybe Microsoft will have to deal with more paperwork than they anticipated.

Editor’s note: Honestly, I doubt that this research can hinder the Microsoft acquisition process, or at least not to the point that they must completely cancel the transaction. What is possible, is that the agreement is going to take a little longer to specify, but I feel that in the end they should not have any problem.
